24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor

Newly, our Department of Internal Medicine offers 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor test using the Holter device.  This small device carried by the patient over a 24 hour period messures his blood pressure regularly in preset intervals. It is a simple and effective method of monitoring your blood pressure over an extended period. This allows to evaluate how effective is your medication or how your blood pressure responds during your daily routine. Also, it allows to identify patients who have elevated blood pressure only when measured in clinical settings (so called white coat syndrom).
